Metronome Logic Pro 9

This is a quick tutorial on how to record guitar directly into your DAW through your audio interface. Planet 7 complaints. This kind of recording is typically referred to as Direct-In. For this blog's sake, I'm going to be using Logic Pro 9, and running my guitar through an M-Audio Fast Track Ultra Audio Interface.

So first thing you're going to do in Logic is open up a new project. Logic asks you how many Audio/Software instrument tracks you'd like to create.

Of course before you get to this screen you're going to need a guitar, a 1/4 inch instrument cable, and an audio interface or soundcard that has a 1/4 inch input.

Since we aren't using Software Instruments or an External Midi input we're going to choose Audio, Format -> Mono because the guitar is a mono signal when using direct input. Make sure your guitar is plugged into the correct input that you choose for your track. New sketch drawing.

Couragejd voice changer. Once you've got your audio tracks ready, to go inserts, amp and pedals, and choose either Amp Designer –> Mono, or Guitar Amp Pro –> Mono. I prefer the Amp Designer because I think it gives a little bit more control for what I typically use it for.

Once you've opened the Amp Designer, you'll see amp settings come up in a typical Plug-In window. Basically this will let you control the parameters of a real guitar amp. Depending on which DAW you are working in, you'll have different presets available to you.

Once you've got your amp set up, which can be altered after you record your actual guitar to tweak it however you'd like, go back to inserts and open up Amps and Pedals –> Pedal Board –> Mono.

Here you can add any of these pedals built in to Logic to change your tone. There are chorus, fuzz, auto-wah, overdrive, and all sorts of pedals. Vlc 3 0 ios.

Now that you have your desired amp tone and effects loop, you must first enable recording by clicking the 'R' button to make it red.

So hit the new track button at the top of the arrange box and click software instrument. Go to the I/O, which stands for Input/Output, and click on the input. Change this to Ultrabeat.

Basically this will give you a nice underlying beat for whatever you're going to play to make sure you're playing on time.

Make sure your Ultrabeat is turned on, and when you begin to record it will play a beat—which works great as a metronome. Make sure to have your Guitar Input track selected when you hit record!
